It all started when…
In 2012 Rithy Ann a local Cambodian tour guide led RC South Melbourne member Bronwyn Stephens to Bosala after it was devastated by outbreaks of cholera, typhoid, dengue and pneumonia.
Immediately the District 9800 Rotary Club moved into action by providing the village aid with food, clean drinking water and emergency medical treatment and 'World of Difference' was born

SUPPORTED ROTARY PROJECTS:
You will participate in a variety of Rotary - supported projects. The types of activities you will undertake at these facilities will depend on your skills/ talents eg you may teach English, teach arts or crafts, knit, be able to help with maintenance, etcEveryone has an opportunity and the volunteering is not difficult but is enormous fun. Your volunteer work will be tailored to maximise the value we can add to the lives of disadvantaged Cambodian people.
DONATION OF GOODS:
Several projects we visit, such as schools and orphanages, have asked us to make donations of needed items such as rice and books. It may be easier and cheaper to buy some of these items in Cambodia, but you will be given more advice on this once the team has been finalised. It is up to you how much you contribute towards the pruchase of such items.
We urge you to undertake fundraising to purchase goods to donate to projects. Aside from the goods we donate, each person is asked to raise at least $500 which will be donated to a worthy project.
Cambodia's dry season runs from October to April.
December, January and February the temperature is generally cooler - in the high 20's.
In order to take part in this trip, you will need to obtain a medical clearance from you doctor, including the declaration of all pre-existing medical conditions. Participants must be of a moderate fitness level and be mobile enough to walk on uneven surfaces for up to 2-3kms.
Things can change from day to day in Cambodia. Road conditions can often be difficult. This trip requires participants to be flexible and aware that the intinerary may change due to unforeseen circumstances. We will make every effort to ensure things go according to plan!
SHARE THE JOY:
